PTR The Jack SBS FS 12 Gauge Short Barreled Shotgun
7.25" Barrel - Fixed Stock - Factory SBS Configuration The PTR The Jack SBS FS is a factory-configured 12 gauge short-barreled shotgun designed for compact handling while retaining traditional shotgun ergonomics. Sold as an NFA-registered SBS with fixed stock and pistol grip installed, this configuration delivers reduced overall length with familiar controls and balance. Built around a 7.25-inch barrel and fitted with Hogue OverMolded Rubber Tamer recoil-reducing furniture, The Jack SBS FS emphasizes maneuverability, recoil control, and secure handling. Features cross-bolt safety, 2+1 magazine capacity, black Cerakote finish, and detachable VELCRO six-round side saddle. Overall length 25 inches, weight 5.50 lbs unloaded.
Factory Short-Barreled Shotgun Configuration
The Jack SBS FS is sold as a factory-produced short-barreled shotgun with all NFA requirements handled at the point of sale. This eliminates the need for Form 1 applications or user modification. The fixed stock and pistol grip are installed at the factory, providing immediate use upon transfer approval.
7.25" Barrel for Compact Maneuverability
The 7.25-inch barrel provides exceptional maneuverability in confined spaces while maintaining effective patterns at close range. The short barrel configuration reduces overall length to approximately 25 inches, proving ideal for vehicle use, home defense, and tactical applications where compactness is paramount.
Fixed Stock Configuration
The fixed Hogue OverMolded Rubber stock provides traditional shotgun geometry and shouldering capability. This conventional stock design maintains familiar handling characteristics while incorporating recoil-reducing properties through the OverMolded rubber construction.
Hogue OverMolded Rubber Tamer Furniture
The Jack SBS FS features comprehensive Hogue OverMolded Rubber Tamer furniture including fixed stock, pistol grip, and AR-style grip. The OverMolded rubber construction provides secure grip even when wet, absorbs recoil energy, and improves control during rapid fire. The Tamer line specifically addresses recoil management in high-recoil platforms.
Dual Grip System
The shotgun incorporates both a pistol grip and AR-style grip for versatile handling options. The pistol grip provides traditional shotgun control while the AR-style grip offers familiar ergonomics for users experienced with AR platforms. This dual-grip configuration enables adaptable shooting positions.
Cross-Bolt Safety
The cross-bolt safety provides familiar operation for shotgun users. This traditional safety design enables intuitive manipulation and positive engagement, reducing training requirements for shooters transitioning from conventional shotguns.
2+1 Magazine Capacity
The 2+1 magazine capacity (two in magazine tube, one in chamber) provides straightforward, reliable feeding. While modest compared to extended-tube shotguns, this capacity maintains simplicity and reduces overall length. The included detachable VELCRO six-round side saddle provides immediate reload capability.
Detachable VELCRO Side Saddle
The included six-round VELCRO side saddle attaches to the receiver, providing quick access to additional shells. The VELCRO attachment enables easy removal for cleaning or reconfiguration while maintaining secure shell retention during use.
Black Cerakote Finish
The black Cerakote finish provides exceptional corrosion resistance and durability. Cerakote withstands environmental exposure, chemical contact, and abrasion better than traditional finishes, ensuring long-term protection in demanding conditions.
25" Overall Length
At approximately 25 inches overall length, The Jack SBS FS delivers exceptional compactness while maintaining shoulder-fire capability through the fixed stock. This reduced length proves advantageous in vehicles, confined structures, and tactical environments.
5.50 lbs Weight
The 5.50 lb unloaded weight balances maneuverability with controllability. The moderate weight provides stability during firing while remaining light enough for extended carry or rapid handling. The PTR The Jack SBS FS combines factory SBS configuration with traditional shotgun ergonomics—delivering compact performance in an NFA-compliant platform.
